3.1 Analysis on the development of coal making gas----- shaft furnace DRI in China
It is one of the most significant ways to develop China’s DRI. The method of coal making gas and the selecting on iron is the key point for the technique to be industrialized. The DRI shaft furnace gas making system may prefer coal with good applicability and low-pressure gasification. Since the DRI shaft furnace lays strict standard on lump ore /pellet, the special lump ore originated from high-quality concentrate within domestic iron ore resources may work. Besides, setting up the equipment specially producing lump ore for DRI in an area with rich resources and convenient transportation is the urgent need for the development of DRI technology in China.

4. Application
4.1 current situation of the raw material composition for EAF steelmaking and the advice on its advancement
In the thesis, a research is conducted on the current situation of the raw material composition for EAF steelmaking, production cost of plants and the production of DRI. Besides, the study on the domestic application of DRI is also carried out. The thesis also draws a brief conclusion on technology advancement of the two main gas-based DRI technologies.
4.2 application of sponge iron on the EAF steelmaking
The experiment on how the proportion of sponge iron affects the time, energy consumption per ton, yield of liquid steel and residual elements is carried out. The conclusion is that when the proportion of sponge iron is around 12%, the casting time and the energy consumption runs lowest and the rate of liquid steel yield comes high up to 88%. Since sponge iron is quite pure, the increasing proportion of the material will effectively dilute residual elements in liquid steel, which can apparently improve the quality of liquid water.

Analysis shows that when 30-35 t sponge iron is added, the index of super level can be met. Besides, the content of Pb、Sn、As、Sb、Bi is able to meet the technique requirement.
5. On energy saving and emission reduction
5.1 analyses on the energy consumption by blast furnace and non-blast furnace
The aim to develop COREX and FINEX is to replace coke iron making. However, the coke iron making cannot be totally replaced in the current period. The energy consumption and the emission amount of CO2 are both higher in the smelting reduction process than in the blast furnace iron making process. Therefore, the study on the development of the process should be carefully carried out.
5.2 Development opportunity of DRI under the environmental protection policy
The price of raw material is continuously rising due to the replacement of small-sized blast furnaces under the macro policy and the increasingly growing domestic market for iron and steel. Especially the price of metallurgical coke is lifting. The whole metallurgy industry shows the greatest enthusiasm in the non-blast-furnace iron making technology. And the DRI and smelting reduction technologies have gradually become the eyes-catcher in the industry.
