JMB reported that Japanese ferrous scrap price decreased by JPY 1,000 per tonne late last week.
As per report, the price decreased to JPY 32,000 to JPY 33,500 per tonne for H2 grade at local steel makers purchase price including freight, which is JPY 2,500 to JPY 3,000 yen lower than last week level and JPY 5,000 to JPY 6,000 lower than recent peak in mid April.
The makers reduce the purchase price gradually when the supply gets looser due to slower scrap shipping for export market.
