TEHRAN – Iran's iron ore exports in the past calendar year (ended March 20, 2010) weighed some 4.79 million tons, showing a 53 percent rise compared to the preceding year, Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) reported.
The value of exports was around $297.4 million, the report added, according to the Mehr News Agency.
Last year, 25 million tons of Iron ore was produced in the country, which was 1 percent more than the year before.
Nearly 32 million tons of Iron ore was extracted in Iran in the past year, 2 percent higher year on year, the report said
