The Ministry of Commerce has released a report saying that China's foreign trade will continue at a stable pace in the next 10 years, while mapping out a path for large scale foreign trade enterprises in the post crisis era.
Li Gang, a researcher at the Ministry of Commerce was speaking at the ongoing China Import and Export Fair, the country's largest event of its kind, held in Guangzhou. He says China's trade value will reach 5.3 trillion U.S. dollars by 2020. 1 trillion will be from service sectors, while merchandise imports and exports will hit 4.3 trillion dollars in 2020. Exports will top other countries and be worth 2.4 trillion in 2010. Imports are expected to reach nearly 2 trillion US dollars in that year and rank second-largest.
